Fridays are the longest day of the week. Cleaning the church and making sure everything is ready for Sunday in the Student Center makes for the long day. There is alot of work involved when you have a multi-purpose building.
We had our Ethos meeting yesterday to nail things down for this Sunday and plan ahead for the following series. This Sunday is our communion service. Creatively is was a simple one. Our goal is worship and communion. Plain and simple. I really wanted to paint the backdrops a dark color that would add to communion so they are now a deep plum. They don't really stand out just fade into the backdrops with a touch of grape.
I changed the chairs up a bit and moved some of the end tables with candles to line the walls. We will have several places to take communion from. Nothing fancy. Nothing elaborate. The creative aspect will come from our relationship with Christ. We serve a creative God and how He chose to save us is spectacular.
The reality and raw beauty of communion will be our focus this week.
